How booking platforms charge you

Most online booking platforms combine two or three ways of charging. Knowing them helps you read your own invoice and understand what each client is really costing you.

Fixed monthly fee

You pay a fixed amount every month for using the platform, whether you get one booking or a hundred. It is the easiest part to compare because it always shows the same on your bank statement.

Commission per new client

When a client finds you through the platform's own directory or search, many platforms charge a percentage or a fixed amount for that first booking. It is the cost of them bringing you someone who did not know you yet.

Commission per payment or booking managed

Some platforms also charge a small percentage on every booking they process, whether from a new client or one who already knew you and came back on their own. This is the part that adds up the most over time, because it applies to your whole base of regular clients.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to sign up or give my email to use the calculator?

No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser and sends no data to any server. We do not ask for an email or sign-up to see it or use it.

Where do the rates used to calculate my cost come from?

They do not come from anyone else's rates: the result comes only from the numbers you enter about what you pay today. We do not use or publish any specific platform's rates.

Why do you separate what I pay for management from what I pay for acquisition?

Because they are different things. What you pay to manage your regular clients you save in full if you switch tools. What you pay for acquisition is the cost of that platform having brought you a new client, and that does not disappear just by switching platforms.

What if I do not know the commission percentage I am charged?

You can leave those fields at 0. The calculation is still useful with just your monthly fee and your bookings per month; the rest is optional to refine the result.
